GSL History



“To complete the Administrative Development discipline, the Laws should be also included”. (said Prof. Boonchana Autthakorn)

The NIDA Graduate School of Law (GSL) was created at the bequest of Prof. Boonchana Autthakorn, the first rector of National Institute of Development Administration, on 1966 (B.E. 2509). It was established on the basis of an advanced educational service to prepare the people to become leading agents of change for national development.

The GSL was firstly approved to be established by the board of Institute, the special meeting of 8/2552 on October, 26, B.E. 2552, under the circumstance of the crisis of ethics and rules of law which leads to the conflict in the country.

The curriculum of GSL is designed to serve several goals of different learners. We launch three programs, namely, Master of Arts in Law and Management (formerly in Law for Executive) for non-lawyers and Master of Laws and Doctoral of Laws for law graduates in different of legal career path.

On September of 2010, the NIDA Graduate School of Law firstly opened its doors to the 21 members of Master of Arts in Law for Executive program, and expanding to 150 members of Master of Laws program and 12 members of Doctoral of Laws program on June and July of 2011, respectively.

NIDA was originally established to support national development in Thailand; this objective has now been expanded to legal studies. Therefore, the GSL has set up our objective to produce advanced degree graduates that can integrate the knowledge of interdisciplinary under the concept of rules of law and good governance for development the country.



To become a high legal academic institute, the GSL aims to integrate the knowledge for national development under the rules of law.



Our commitment is

1.To become an advance legal academic institute where produces the graduates in master and doctor degree, and being and excellence in the areas of legal research.

2.To produce the fruitful legal professionals and individuals who possess the integrated knowledge and interdisciplinary for the country development and management, the policy making and the application of laws.

3.To build up the organization international.
